RUMMY
Go back from the hole take your woke claw
Burn that trump card down on the flatbed
Far the tendercut blisters in the dry rot sight
Was a bright sucked thing in the gone noon belief
Specter lateness
Scrolls the safepit
From sense the back climb
Runs the firmer
Gone rummy to make size
Through the verandah to the wheel
The peeled insides of storms
Shock fit and prone
Sucked out in front of the vermin trees
What you don't dream
Goes in tongues around you
Soon the loss of me
The naked and the wane
Cut and made bait
The zoo sprawled out on its last lamp
Was there a witness?
Instant a coda
You don't know when the dogs put down
And the soot morass
From the stunned and buried ground
Gone rummy to make size
You don't know what the edge is
You don't know how to rope the end
Scroll the safepit
Run the firmer
Times tales
Gone rummy to make size

The great underlying instrumentation paired with Florence's droll stream of consciousness lyrics make this album stand out. It feels so personal and confessional. Favorite tracks are Strong Feelings and Leafy. I've heard Scratchard Lanyard on alt radio and love that one as well. tofupotpie
Kansas City trio Flooding draw out the more mystical qualities of slowcore and noise rock for a heavy sound that's less stony than doom. Bandcamp New & Notable Oct 26, 2023
A killer re-release of a rare solo post-punk LP from 1988 by the frontman of Taste of Decay and Garden of Pleasures. Bandcamp New & Notable Jan 17, 2022
On her latest EP, Baltimore's Mariah Fortune adds electronic beats and synth layers to her rhythmic dark folk meditations. Bandcamp New & Notable Mar 21, 2018
Very happy a colleague recommended Mdou Moctar to me after I discovered & fell in love with Tinariwen and this new (to me) desert blues sound! Mdou Moctar inject more of a psychedelic sensibility into their music rather than Tinariwen's drone, making it flavorfully distinctive, while still carrying that shining, twanging, sun-drenched sound we all love about Saharan desert rock. Love the grooving rhythms and the alternately snappy clean or drowned-in-effects guitar melodies. Excellent work! pinkytheent
